A new outlook on things...

Tue Oct 20, 2009, 7:46 PM
Lately I find myself questioning everything around me. Every soul I see gains further insight upon myself, but also leaves me with more questions. Everything I experience brings about even more. I look into my past and upon every visual I gain of it, I find myself placing a "why" against it. I question rules, I question authority, I question society, and those around me. I question myself.

Where does it all lead? How do I understand my purpose, how do I understand my fate? Where does it begin, and where does it end? These endless questions rattle my mind before silencing themselves as I dream. My dreams become stunning visuals of a world, a life - desired by me. Throughout the chaos of the day, I can always look forward to a restful slumber. Never before have I questioned things so deeply. Where can I attribute it's source? Is it something new? Or has it always been there, watching...waiting for it's time to come loose?

Whatever the source behind it, I now find myself experiencing it. Each and every person here follows a strict set of rules, some find loopholes, others cope. These rules are passed down from generation to generation and only slightly change as the years pass on. Who created these rules? Why do they hinder us from living how we wish?

Religion can be attributed to such strict living, but then again, each and every one of us stray from the rules every now and then. How else can we still define ourselves as Human? We're free thinkers, no one can control us. Only we have that power. Why then do we allow rules from unknown sources to dictate our very lives? I admit some rules are necessary, but others simply deter you from living an otherwise amazing life.

When someone demands that I do something, most impulses would have you believe you should first think how, yet I can't help but think - Why. Why am I being demanded to do such? Only by understanding such a concept can I fully grasp the situation and then begin to transition into - How. Life these days is demanding. You live a life for work, some even gain stress over school. Where the real experience of learning is gained from everyday life, simply by living...You stress over getting a paper done. One that upon gaining it's final grade, will simply be thrown aside, left to rot and forever be forgotten. What accomplishment can be gained in such? Why willingly add stress to an already stressful life?

Even in work where you should be enjoying your time, do you find yourself wishing for something more. Maybe it's respect, perhaps it's fun. Whoever said you couldn't have fun, and had to be serious at all times - Let rules take over their life. This life is too short to let anything control you. It's too short to be too serious over things that don't matter in the end. Family, Friends, Shelter, Food. Those are the things that should be taken seriously. Because in the end, that's all you're going to have. One day, you may even find yourself lacking one or more.

I suppose the moral of the story could be said that we take life for granted, that we let others dictate our lives for us. We spend so much of our time stressing over things that don't matter. We use the world around us and all of it's norms to define who we are. We're too scared to break away from it, thus we become robotic, just like everyone else. Those that stray from the norm are cast aside and judged, when they themselves see the pattern of a falling foundation, and learn against it.

Who should be the one to be judged then? Continue following orders.

I'm not a rapper I'm a rocker in a Grunge band,
I'm supa' fly,
One hell of a helicopter stunt man,
We'll make your guns jam,
And leave your forehead crammed,
With sharp swords that cut boars head
